P. C. Carr (Stranorlar) RIP
We are sorry to hear of the passing of the great Paddy Carr, past President of both the CBAI and the Irish Bridge Union. As well as being Donegal’s ‘Mr. Bridge’, Paddy was also a renowned National Tournament Director with that skilful art of being able to penalise a player in such a way that the player actually enjoyed it. Of course his pride and joy was the success of his world famous Donegal Bridge Congress which he organised for 43 years. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone who attended the congress enjoyed their weekend. He was the first person to arrive every morning for setup duties and he didn’t go to bed any night until the last singer and dancer had gone to bed first. Paddy was always generous, kind, helpful, encouraging, supportive, wise and all this coupled with his charming charisma. Irish Bridge has lost one of its most gifted and dedicated players, teachers, directors and presidents. We will all miss him sorely.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Mary, Michael, Helen, and Tony, his brother Cathal, his sister Bernie and his wide circle of family and friends.
Reposing at his home on Saturday, November 16th, from 6 p.m. Funeral leaving his home on Monday, November 18th, at 10.40 a.m. for Requiem Mass in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar at 11 a.m.
