It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Eilísh Keaveney (wife of Gay Keaveney). Those of us who had the pleasure of meeting her were always touched by her kindness, her sense of fairness and her abundance of that rare quality – common sense. The old saying that behind every great man is an even greater woman is particularly appropriate in Eilísh’s case – you don’t get to be the number one player in Ireland without the support of a great and loving wife. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Gay, Neasa, Doireann, Fergal, extended family and friends. May she Rest in Peace.
(Retired Principal of the Dominican College, Taylor’s Hill, Galway) Dearly beloved wife of Gay and much loved mother of Neasa, Doireann and Fergal. Deeply mourned and sadly missed by her husband, daughters and son, sisters Sheila, Moya, Fiona, Mairéad and their families, the extended Keaveney and Coffey families and friends.
